Older books need love too! These are all books that I've recently added to my TBR list and that were published before 2012. The other day I was looking over my books read for 2012 and considering which ones might make my top ten list for the year. And I was both surprised and pleased to learn that a good portion of the books that will make it as a top read are older books (for me that means that they weren't published this year). Don't get me wrong....I love new books! And pine for them on a constant basis. But I really wanted to share with you all some of the books that aren't getting as much attention in the bloggy world because they are older :) I've decided to group them by genre and do posts like this ever so often. It will give me a chance to share with all of you those books that I've been adding to my TBR list in a fun way!
Today's TBR theme is mysteries. I'm a huge fan of classic mysteries, and I'm always looking for new authors to try. Here are some of the latest mystery reads that I've added to my TBR wishlist:
These are all new to me authors and most have huge backlists of books! And they are all the beginning books in a series. LOL! I already have WAY too many series that I'm working on but that doesn't stop me from wanting to try these. Now I just need to get my hands on some of these. Looks like a visit to my local library will be in the near future! What books have you added to your TBR list recently?? And are you a fan of newer or older books....or do you mix it up like I do?
Great picks! :) For the past two years I have been trying to get back to the Cleeves series I started (different from the one you chose above) and decided 2013 IS the year! I'm just looking for that 5/5 read, and if it comes as the first in a series - that works for me! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, they all look good, especially the Anne Perry book. I like to mix up it up too...old and new books. And hubby just got me a Nook so I'm currently ebook obsessed.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I see Stabenow's books offered as a free kindle book every now and again so I will have to get one the next time one is offered. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on them!!
ReplyDeleteThese look excellent, and are all new to me authors as well. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou're in for a treat with the Anne Perry books. I read the Inspector Pitt series back when they first came out. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love a mix of old and new authors to me also. Finding a new favourite and getting to their backlist is a treat. I haven't heard of these. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteI have so many older books on my TBR shelves. I hope to devote more time to them this coming year. One of my many easy going goals. :-) I really like Anne Perry's books and hope you do too.
ReplyDeleteJoy- I've been wanting to try Cleeves for awhile now! I'll be interested in hearing what you think if you do get back to that series...I added both of the first books in her two series to my TBR list :)
ReplyDeleteNaida- I feel like a good mix keeps me from going into reading slumps! And I'm ebook obsessed as well!! :)
Staci- You do not know how excited I was to find it for free for my reader! Thanks for mentioning that because I definitely went and added it to my reader after you mentioned that!!
Suko- I love finding new authors to love and explore :)
Bev- That's good to know! It seems like she has written quite a few books so I need to get moving on them :)
Marce- I just adore when I find authors with huge backlists to explore! Nothing makes me happier. LOL!
Wendy- I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying her books! I'm planning on picking up the first one from the library very soon :)
