Library Loot - Last of 2011

Library Loot is hosted by Marg and Claire and asks us to share what we've picked up from the library recently.

I love this time of year when it comes to books. The promise of the upcoming year and all of the great books that are waiting to be published alongside all of the best of 2011 lists. I cannot resist these lists which means I am constantly adding to my TBR wishlist and putting holds on at the library. I have no self control when it comes to books :) I have an obscene number of books checked out from the library right now (and I didn't tell you this but I have 4 holds waiting for me as well) but here is a taste of some of the books I've gotten from the library recently.

I have so many good books checked out from the library that I don't even know where to begin. It looks like 2011 is going to go out with a bang if I get a chance to read some of these. Do you look forward to the best of 2011 lists like I do??? And am I the only one that can't resist and puts a zillion holds on books at my library??? Tell me I'm not the only one :)

  1. Your loot looks great! I have a ton of books checked out too. With so many great-looking books out, it can be hard to choose one to read so I've been going by due date. That helps. The best of 2011 lists hurts my tbr pile but it's great to find books that I wouldn't have read otherwise. Happy reading!

I used to go once a month.

  3. I haven't even heard of that Charlaine Harris. Probably a good thing.

  4. Vasilly- I love the "best of" lists! They are so much fun to read and of course they hurt my TBR pile as well :) I don't mind though...

Naida- Not been to the library???? I'm pretty sure that I would go thru library withdrawals. LOL!

    Thanks Kailana!

Lisa- I hadn't either to be honest. I found it was I was browsing the new book section and couldn't resist. I don't even know if it is part of a series or anything..it doesn't look it though.

Linda- I know! I love the covers :)

  5. Those all look good! My mouth is watering. I confess I'm worse than Naida. It's been years since I last stepped foot in the library. I have so many unread books in my personal library that I feel guilty going to the public one--and yet I still somehow keep buying books. Now it's just mostly on my nook. :-S

  6. Literary Feline- I have a feeling that when I get my Kindle I will be the same way....but I'll never be able to not go to the library. I can get my book fix there without having to spend a dime :)

  10. D'oh! I just realized one of those was Geraldine Brooks. Must be a new one?! I haven't read anything by her but would love to.

  11. Trish- I think that this is the newest book by Brooks. I read Year of Wonders by her and have wanted to read more by her since then :)
