Reading Events (Or Winter Reading Fun)

In the spirit of signing up for just about every reading challenge out there, I also found a couple of reading events that I couldn't resist.  I'm sure this doesn't surprise most of you.  What's one more right?  I'm going to use both of these to really get my reading off to a great start in 2015.  That's the plan at least!

The Winter COYER challenge is here (and actually has already started) but since it is three months long I'm joining in.  I have plenty of books stocked up on ipad and now kindle to keep me plenty busy.  Plus this will also help me knock out some of those NetGalley copies that keep piling up.  My favorite part is coming up with a list of possibilities for this so here are just a few of the books that I want to finish for this challenge.

If I manage to finish more that would be amazing but I'm hoping to read at least eight books from my e-reader for this challenge.  I will keep you updated on my progress as I go along. There are read-a-thons and lots of other fun stuff planned so if you want to sign up go here.

Bout of Books is back!  My first read-a-thon of the new year and I'm super pumped for it.  I always look forward to these read-a-thons as they are fun AND such a great way to start off the new year.  Here is the official blurb from the Bout of Books blog:

"The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 5th and runs through Sunday, January 11th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 12 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team"

My goals for this read-a-thon are going to be very simple.  Read and comment.  That's it!  I'm not setting an amount of books or anything.  I just want to focus this week on reading and commenting on other reader's blogs.  It will be great and hopefully lots of fun!  I'm planning on reading this book and after that I will follow my mood:

I am really looking forward to finishing some great books and meeting some new bloggy friends thanks to these two events.  Are any of you participating in one/both of these?  Or do you have other big reading plans in the works?  Do share!

  1. Sam, you are a super reader! I hope you will enjoy these events. The Bout of Books read-a-thon button is great.

  2. OMG, I didn't know Carol Goodman had a new novel out. I feel like I've been waiting forever! Have fun participating in these reading events. I've heard of Bout of Books and that does look fun.

  3. Both of these sound fun, Sam! I hope you are able to fit in lots of reading time--and read many great books.

  4. LOL. Oh yes NG crazy, I fear that so I try...TRY to stay away

  5. I opted to not set any specific goals either. I just want to be low key with this one and to keep the flow going!

  6. Suko- It is always a fun read-a-thon with lots of readers to help keep you motivated. I love it :)

Iliana- Goodman is an author that I will read anything/everything that she writes. I just found out the sequel to Blythewood just recently released as well so yay!

    Thanks Wendy!!

Blodeuedd- I try to stay away from NetGalley but I don't usually succeed. LOL!

Lisa- I hope that you had a very successful read-a-thon (since this comment is so very late). Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate each and every one of them :)
