Happy New Year's to everyone! What a busy and crazy end to 2009...I couldn't keep up at times. And I'm pretty sure that my lack of blogging reflected that but what can you do? So I'm really excited about 2010 and have high hopes that my reading will go off in some great directions. I've joined a BUNCH of challenges...probably way too many but that isn't stopping me from joining a few more. LOL!
So my reading plans for this year are mainly to just read. And blog of course. But as my 3rd child is soon to make it into this world...well, finding the time to read will be a big thing for me. I've joined some challenges this year that will hopefully help to expand my reading and take it into different directions. At some point in the near future I will be posting a list of my 2009 reads so that I can put a link in my sidebar. I will also be working on getting a list of books that need to be reviewed from 2009...and my goal is to eventually review all of them. That is going to be a project unto itself but I'll take my time. I stopped taking review copies last year but still have a pile that needs to be read and reviewed which is a project that I will be working on as well. My apologies to the publishers on that one.
Hmm...what else? I would love to make it to 100 books in 2010. I'm going to continue reading the authors and series I love as well as work on finding new authors. I would also like to work on my perpetual reading projects and knock some books off of those lists. Lots of plans, huh? :) A huge thanks to all of my fellow readers who inspire me everyday in my reading and in blogging. I hope you all have a great 2010!
P.S.- Some of the other challenges I am joining that I haven't posted about yet are the Suspense/Thriller challenge, the Speculative Fiction challenge, and the Orange Prize Project (which is a perpetual challenge). And I'm going to work on the Notable Books project as well which I have been neglecting. So many challenges, so little time...
Edited to add: OMG! Another challenge just popped up in the blogsphere and this one is a must join for me even though I fail miserably at it each time that I join. I'm signing up for the Book Awards IV challenge. Yay! And may this be the time that I actually finish :)
Happy New Year! May this year be the best of the best. :)ReplyDelete
I like that goal: to just read. :-)ReplyDelete
Good luck getting organized. That's something I'm constantly working on as well.
And good luck with your challenges. Have fun and may you read lots. Have a very Happy New Year, Sam.
I agree with Literary Feline: if your goal is "just read," most of your other goals have a way of falling into place. Have a great year.ReplyDelete
I hope to hit 100 book mark this year. Have fun with your reading and all the challenges :)ReplyDelete
Happy New Year and here's an early WELCOME to that 3rd child of yours!!!ReplyDelete
Hopefully reading will come easy for you this year...as a mother of 4 kids...I know how precious "me" time is.
Good luck with all your reading challenges...we are in a few together and hope this year is a fantastic one for you and your family!!!
You're out of control Sam!! Good luck this year with the reading and I can't wait until #3 comes into the world!!ReplyDelete
Oh I hear you on joining challenges! I've seen several lately that I just can't resist. Here's wishing you a wonderful year ahead and hope you make it to your 100 reads!ReplyDelete
Happy New Year! I know that you'll appreciate having time to read once the baby's born, during naps and such. Enjoy your reading challenges.ReplyDelete
All the challenges are very tempting aren't they? Good luck with everything, including the new family memberReplyDelete
J.Kaye- Happy New Year to you too!!!ReplyDelete
Literary Feline- I'm just working on keeping it simple and fun :)
Sam- I hope you both have a great new year as well!
Book Chick City- I will have fun with the challenges...so thanks for hosting a couple of them!
Kara- Thank you so much! It is definitely going to be more difficult finding me time but I'll have to or I'll lose my sanity..lol!
Staci- Thank you!!!
Iliana, Kerrie, and Suko- There is just something about challenges that I find irresistable even when I don't finish half of them. I can't seem to stop from trying :)
Congratulations on the new baby on the way! That is exciting. And oddly enough, it can be a good reading time. I remember reading Tolstoy with my son latched onto my breast.ReplyDelete
Sam....best of luck to you and your family with a new little bundle on the way. How exciting. I hope you find a little time for reading and relaxation!ReplyDelete
I hope you reach your goals this year! Happy reading!ReplyDelete
Stephanie- I am hoping that it will still be a good reading time but have to take into consideration that my two year old will be into everything still :)ReplyDelete
Diane- Thank you so very much!
Ladytink- Thank you :)
Good luck meeting your goals! You'll do just fine, just keep reading!ReplyDelete
You just have that baby and let the reading flow naturally! As a mom of three, I have to tell you once you are outnumbered, it's WAY more difficult!! I actually didn't think 3 instead of 2 would be a big deal. But mine are finally at an age that I can enjoy the little things again. Though I do miss the cuddles of a newborn!!ReplyDelete
Good luck to you in 2010!! Can't wait to hear about all your reading, challenges, and baby stuff!
Heather- Thank you...I'm working on it :)ReplyDelete
Stephanie- I was kinda hoping 3 wouldn't be such a change like having two kids was. But you are right..now we'll be outnumbered. Aack! It'll all work out though!
Oh wow! That's a lot of challenges!! Good luck!ReplyDelete
Happy New Year! :)
Christine- Yeah...I might have gone a bit overboard :)ReplyDelete
