The Sunday Salon- Reading Phases

Good morning and Happy Sunday to all of my fellow bloggers! Unfortunately, I'm not reading as much as I would like to be but life interferes at times. I'm glad to say that I am loving my new job and everday there is something new. I'm kept busy at all times which is a must for me because with boredom comes a longing to be reading (and not doing whatever I should be doing). I finished and reviewed Dead Girls Are Easy by Terri Garey which I enjoyed. It was a fun read for me which is something that I needed. I have picked up Aunt Dimity's Death by Nancy Atherton. I have heard such good things about this series and I'm glad that I finally picked the first one up. I'm not very far in yet but I really like what I have read so far. Have any of you read this series yet??

I've also joined a few more reading challenges. I have come to the conclusion that I just like making lists for these challenges. And they inspire me to read more out of my comfort zone which is always a good thing. I did finally finish my 1st reading challenge ever which was the Spring Reading Challenge. But I haven't posted about it yet. Maybe later this afternoon after I am done checking out all of your blogs. For now I leave you with the above picture that is adorable to look at (my son is #8).

  1. That's a great picture!

I too like making lists...lists are fun. I think that is why I joined the 888 Challenge on LT. I've thought about joined some other challenges but haven't done so yet. I don't want to get so bogged down in challenges that reading becomes more like work, ya know?

  2. I think my favorite part of signing up for challenges is making the list of books I want to read. :-) Even though I've sworn off challenges I'm not already signed up for, I still like to think of what books I would put on my list if I did sign up.

  3. don't do challenges because I know that they will irritate me as I find myself reading for them rather than reading the books I've just come across and really want to get into. But, I do understand the enjoyment of making a list. There is nothing like a good list!

  4. Irish- I completely understand! I don't seem to care whether or not I finish the challenges I join. It is just fun for me to cross things off my lists.

Literary Feline- I agree..making the lists IS the best part!

Tabletalk- That is what I was afraid of as well. But I still read whatever I feel like reading...most of the time anyway ;)

  7. Hi, Sam!

I found your blog through a link on Devourer of Books' blog. I really enjoy your cotent and I wanted to introduce myself and my work to you. I am an online publicist. I work to connect online writers with review books.

It's super easy! Just go to my site (http://onlinepublicist.net), look at what I have available, and if any of the titles interest you for review on your blog, just send me a little note through the contact page. I will have a copy sent to you, then, once the book arrives, we can work out a review date that works for you!

Feel free to do a google blog search of my name to see what other bloggers have said about me and my work. I hope to hear from you soon...

    All Best,
    Lisa

  8. I'm with you in list making! I've signed up for way too many challenges - ones that I will probably never finish - but I just love coming up with lists of books! I keep plugging away at them, though, so maybe I will finish at least a few of them :)
