Spring Fun (Or What I Have Been Doing This Weekend)

This was Friday evening.  First fire of the year with the kids (and ice cream bars of course).  Nevermind that it was bit cold and we were all wrapped up in blankets.  It was the first day of spring and we enjoyed it!

Yesterday afternoon was spent soaking up the sunshine with a picnic at a local park.  I cannot get enough of this beautiful weather!  (Especially since they are now predicting snow/thunderstorms for later tonight. Yuck!)

Today's plans involve reading to my heart's content from one of these three.  Most likely it will be on my kindle as I am halfway through Angela Marson's Silent Scream which I can't seem to set down.

What have you been up to this weekend?  I'm off to get the day started and laundry going but tell me: what book (or books) are you planning on reading today?

  1. Are you liking SILENT SCREAM? I have that one and haven't read it yet. Have heard good things. Love your fire with ice cream. Seems perfect to me. Here's hoping for not much snow, if any, and some spring flowers.

  2. I have been reading reading reading this weekend. I finished my nun book, read some more of my book about Congo, started a couple new books (I am insatiable for starting books), and finished the second season of Orphan Black (so good). I was supposed to drive down and hang out with my sister today, but she got horrible food poisoning and had to cancel everything (poor thing). So I have been chilling with my books and my Netflix instead. :D

  3. What a fun way to celebrate spring! It is hard to believe we may have some snow later this week. Just finished Cane and Abe, could not stop listening! Have a great week.

  4. Love the way you celebrated the beginning of Spring! Yesterday we had a gloomy day but today was gorgeous. I got to finish one book so that was good :) Hope you are having a great rest of the weekend!

  5. Yay for the Spring Equinox even if it was still a tad chilly! I worked yesterday, training some new volunteers to monitor eagle nests so not a bad day. Today, I planted a bunch of starts for the garden! I also finished up a couple of books which I have been working on for a while which felt good:). Hope your week continues as nice as your weekend looked!

  7. Wow looks like ya'll had a blast! The last few weeks have been rather warm in Georgia and I've been going out in my yoga pants and tang tops enjoying the sun that I don't often get the chance to experience in the summer because of an annoying combination of MS fatigue and Lupus.Anyways, I have a huge hankering to go camping this summer. I used to go a LOTwith my grandparents growing uo, but they are in their 70s these days and can't get around like they used to.

Is that cute owl printed journal your review journal? I love to have a pretty notebook to use for my reviews :)

  8. Ice cream and cold days go hand in hand. :-) Love the photos, Sam. It looks like you had a good weekend. I spent the weekend polishing off Behind Closed Doors by Elizabeth Haynes.

  10. How nice is that! I love when Spring is in full bloom. I have had enough of the winter cold.
This weekend I just plan on lounging and crocheting.
