To Tweet? and Other Random Book Musings

It has been awhile since I share some pics of the kiddos so here they are :) It really made me realize that I don't have enough of the three of them all together (except for maybe ones that are on my camera and not on the computer yet). I better work on that, huh? I'm so bad about actually doing things with the pictures I take...but that is a story for a different day.

First off, I joined Twitter. Not so much because I understand it ( I don't) but more because I keep seeing all of these posts about how people post questions and others help them out. So for purely selfish reasons, I'm joining in on the bandwagon... a bit late I may add :) But I really want to figure out how to create a header that isn't so plain and there are other things that I would like to be able to tweak on the blog as well. My username (?) is samsbooks1020. I tried to keep it as close to my email as possible but had to change it a little bit. And if you would like to follow me, feel free! Except I can't say that I'll be too exciting.

I'm falling behind in reviews again. Again! Not to complain but how do some of you do it??? Working, kids, baseball, reading, I must admit that I just can't keep up. And some days all I can think is what the heck am I going to do when I have two kids in sports..etc.? It is madness I tell you, but I love every day of it :)

I've been wondering about what types of posts are your favorites? Reviews, posts about books or reading in general, meme type posts...let me know in the comments what you like to read about best. I have been toying with making a few changes to the blog so would love to hear your input on it. Anyhoo, I'll leave you with a picture of my youngest. He is almost 5 months now and growing like a weed. He looks so much like my oldest son when he was a baby that you can't tell the difference when you compare baby pictures. Scary but cool :)

  1. I was kind of a late-comer to twitter myself - no worries, I still don't have it all figured out :)

  2. Your children are so beautiful, Sam!
I am intrigued by Twitter but haven't joined. You seem to juggle it all very well. :)

  3. Just followed you on twitter. I can't pretend to understand it either but I find myself on there more than I thought I would.

In terms of what posts I like? Since I haven't been reading a whole lot I'm actually more and more drawn to the personal posts.

    Your kiddos are precious!

  4. I was tickled when I saw that you'd joined Twitter. I was pretty addicted, but lately I haven't had as much time to Tweet as usual.

The picture of the kiddos is great, and your youngest is adorable! Such a sweet one.

As for what I like most on blogs: general bookish content. Strictly reviews gets a little tedious for me personally (writing and reading).

  5. Hi Sam! Your children are just adorable. I can't believe how big the baby is already!

I started following you on twitter but I tweet so rarely these days, we'll probably miss each other. LOL.

As for your blog posts, I'm happy reading whatever interests YOU. Books, family, your other hobbies, whatever. You just have fun and your readers will have fun, too.

I was thinking of you over the last couple of days as I'm starting to scramble to write some reviews for the books I read this spring for Carl's Once Upon A Time book challenge and was wondering how you did with it. I'm reading my 5th book now for it... but have not written a single review!! Ack!

  6. That baby is adorable! I'm on twitter as lharsma, if you want to add me. I'd go add you first but I'm at work, so can't, and who knows when I'd remember! That balancing act is harder every day, I think.

  7. Melissa- I found you and followed you :)

Suko- Thank you so much! I try to juggle but most of the time I feel very far behind.

    Thank you Stephanie!

Trish- I've been drawn to a lot of personal posts myself. Hmm..it is definitely soething to think about.

Andi- Thanks! And thanks for sharing your thoughts on what you like on a blog. I've gotta say that just reviews gets boring for me as well. I really like how you sometimes share your thoughts on a book that you are currently reading...might try that myself sometime :)

Christine- If it makes you feel any better I've finished the challenge myself and have only reviewed one book so far. I seem to fall further and further behind in reviews. Thank you!!!

Lisa- Just wait until the baby comes...it definitely gets hard to balance everything out. I've learned not to stress about it too much and mainly focus on the reading part as that is what keeps me sane :)
