The Sunday Post #15 (Lazy Day Edition)

I'm getting a late start this Sunday thanks to sleeping in till nine this morning.  This so rarely happens but even the kids slept late so it was quite the treat!  We had friends and family over yesterday afternoon which led to a fun packed evening.  We are laying around this morning being slugs because of it though.  Ha!  Totally worth it but I suppose I should really get my butt in gear at some point soon.  The laundry won't do itself!

Reading is going well!  I've finished a lot of books since my last update but considering that update was a few weeks ago it isn't as impressive as it might have seemed.  Since I am writing this so late in the morning I am going to do a short and sweet share of the books that I have finished recently (aka since my last reading update).

A Matter of Trust by Lis Wiehl - This was a solid read and a new author to follow but I just realized I am forgetting certain details of it already.  I better get my thoughts written on it ASAP!

Meet Your Baker by Ellie Alexander - Loved this one and it sure made me wish I could cook like this.  Will be reading 2nd book very soon!

The Daughter by Jane Shemilt - Read my thoughts on it here.  I really enjoyed this one but have loved even more reading other reader's thoughts on it.  Not everyone felt the same as I did and it has been interesting to read their viewpoints.

The Clockwork Dagger by Beth Cato - Really enjoyed this steampunk adventure.  I'm already reading the second book (it is a duology?) and can already tell you it is just as good as this one!

Wait For You by J. Lynn - This was a good read but I didn't love it as much as others seemed to.  Maybe it was all of the hype but I wasn't blown away by this one.  Just good bordering on pretty good for me.

The Clockwork Crown is my current read on my kindle and one that I am really, really enjoying!  It started right where the first book left off so you definitely should read these in order.  I cannot wait to see how this one ends and will be spending a good portion of my day reading it.  I haven't settled yet on a new print book but I am leaning towards the newest Kate White book that I just received an advanced copy of.  I also just picked up a copy of Misery by Stephen King so I can join in with the read-a-long that is going on of it.  I'm a bit late to the game there but who cares?

Plans for the day include laundry and basically nothing else.  I would like to get some blogging/commenting done.  I definitely plan on reading for a good portion of the afternoon.  And maybe I will take a nap later just because I can.  Ha!  Since I feel so out of the loop in the blogging world lately just tell me what you have finished most recently that shouldn't be missed.  I would love to know!!

Happy Sunday and Happy Reading!

  2. How nice you got sleep late! Bet that is a rare thing. I've just started reading The Ice Twins and we'll see how that goes. Have heard mixed things about it. I'll likely be reading Elly Griffiths' new book, The Ghost Fields, this week as well. Have a good week!

  10. A lazy morning sounds wonderful, Samantha. That's what I hope to have next weekend. We're in between soccer seasons and so it will be nice not to have to get everyone up for that. I may not sleep in late, but everyone else can. LOL

The Clockwork Dagger sounds really good.

    Enjoy your week, Samantha!

  11. Lazy mornings are the best especially with how busy you usually are. I'm just finishing up the audio of Misery and wow it's a great audio. The book though is so much different than the movie. I hadn't ever read the book but I've seen the movie more times than I can count. It's always interesting to see how much different the book and movie are.
